Welcome to Båtbyggeriet Tunarps Kvarn.
We build rowing boats and kayaks for exercise, relaxation and fantastic nature experiences. Most of our boats originate from the sea districts in North Eastern USA, but we are also curious about new constructions, contact us if you have any ideas or suggestions. All our models are built using a strips of wood which are epoxy laminated to create a hard, durable yet beautiful finish.
The boat shop, which started in 2006, is situated in an old flour mill, built 1872, with water running just around the corner. Here we build what we like to call 'lifestyle boats'. We turn to rowers and nature lovers who seek a greater outdoor experience!
We work with the Newfound Woodworks in New Hampshire and supply most of what you can find there and complement with Scandinavian material and knowledge. The result is pleasure boats that combine timeless design with modern methods in order to bring joy for many years with minimal requirements for maintenance.
We collaborate with Sassdeign in Vaxholm Sweden, he came up with nr 151 as a modern alternative to older designs with vineglass transoms. We wanted a modern hull, easily driven and only amoderate effort from the rower. There is a written conclusion available its very interesting to read.
