We offer one day courses where we show you different steps and methods of building, as well as self build courses where you build here at Batbyggeriet with our guidance. During evenings and weekends we guide you so you can build on your own Monday to Friday.
The build times vary depending on the model chosen, but when the course is completed you will have a finished hull to take with you, with only the final painting or varnishing left to do.
Building site, materials and tutorials are included in the course fee when you build with us. Contact us for a specified quote.
If you just want a one day induction and build at home you are equally welcome. After the induction we will help you via phone and email if required.
The introductory course takes place 9.30 -17.00, lunch and coffee breaks are included as well as two very informative instruction DVDs (In English) and costs 900 SEK/person. Maximum of 8 spaces. We go through a number of steps in the building process. If you buy a complete building kit, that is strips, epoxy and MATTA get a discount of 500 SEK.
We accept preliminary bookings, the fee is to be paid at least 10 days before the course starts and we will confirm the payment by sending you the instruction DVDs so you can watch them prior to the course.
When building in our local we assist with machines if necessary however we prefer if you use your own tools and machinery. It is necessary that sanding machines have a suction exit – it's to do with the atmosphere in the workshop – and we will provide vacuum cleaners. By limiting the amount of dust we create a better working environment for everyone, and we can varnish the boats in the same workshop. You have access to the workshop during the course and thereafter you have five weeks to finish the project and take it home.
We haven't specified any particular model to make as we all dream about different boats. Tell us what you want to build and we will see if there is enough room for it. First come, first serve... We can produce drawings and building moulds if desired.
We can provide accommodation to some extent during the warmer part of the year.
